Reading RESCUE Autumn 2020

Reading RESCUE – Rivers and Environmental Spaces Clean-Up Event – our bi-annual environmental clean-up event looked a little different this year!

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, sadly we made the decision not to go ahead with the event in the usual format. However, our local environment and community are our first priority and we were still keen to still do some kind of environmental clean-up. So, last Friday, Lorraine and Annie donned their wellies, roped in a husband and toddler each, and headed off to Kings Meadow!

We spent just over an hour litter picking around the field, next to the river, in the hedges and in the play-park, and managed to fill eight bags with rubbish. We may not have collected as many bags as we would across our usual RESCUE event, however we were glad to leave just a little of our local environment cleaner!
