With the help of local donations and long term funders such as the Big Lottery, Henry Smith, Reading CCGs and Children in Need, Home-Start Reading help prevent crisis within Reading based families, by offering free face-to-face long-term support.

What we do
We work to help families in Reading with at least one child under five get through difficult times and thrive.
We match families with a dedicated volunteer who will visit them at home to provide gentle, non-judgemental support and practical help. We also run weekly family group sessions in Whitley and Tilehurst and run courses for mums who are struggling with low mood, depression or anxiety and new and expectant dads.

To connect with local businesses that might be interested in supporting our work and to be able to network with other local charities.

We would love to link up with more businesses who are looking to donate to a worthwhile local cause, whether through an ad hoc fundraiser or on a regular basis.
