The giving tree
Our Christmas campaign
Through The Giving Tree, our annual Christmas Campaign, our members and the general public provide gifts for disadvantaged children and young people in Reading.
Our 2020 campaign looked a little different and we took The Giving Tree online. Through online donations, support from local businesses we were able to give 1,500 gifts. To read more about our 2020 campaign, click here.

Each year we work with our partners who ask the children they support what they’d really like for Christmas. You then have the opportunity to give a gift you know the recipient actually will really love!
As a charity member you can request gifts for the children and young people you work with. As a business member you can host a tree so your employees and visitors can take part. We also host two public trees in the Broad Street Mall and Oracle Shopping Centre and a donations page online so that the whole Reading community can join in!

An opportunity to get out of the office and clean up our local environment together! Our Reading Rescue events happen twice a year and are sponsored by Thames Water.
Clean up teams are provided with litter pickers, gloves, bags and (crucially!) a scheduled rubbish collection to take-away what’s been found.

WHY TAKE PART?
The Community Investment Co-ordinator at Thames Water says, ‘we’re always proud to sponsor and take part in Reading Rescue. It’s a great community event which really makes a difference to the town….ultimately making Reading a better place to live and work.’
Easter egg Appeal
Think tinder meets kinder surprise
An opportunity for our business members to provide Easter eggs for disadvantaged children and young people in Reading. A bit like a match-making service, our members let us know if they’d like to receive or donate Easter eggs or and we connect them with one another!
It’s a great opportunity to provide practical, fun support for a charity within your local community.
Our forums provide a networking opportunity for members, as well as the chance to hear from inspirational speakers and share best practice. The meetings are hosted online or in venues around Reading. Past themes have included The Challenge of Climate Change, Marketing to Millennials, and Connection, Care and Creativity in a Time of Crisis.
